Do All Endo Treated Teeth Need A Crown

Until a few years ago, I would have confidently replied 'Of Course A Crown Is Mandatory After Every RCT'. But today the mindset is different, because as a clinician I am a whole lot more mature and aware of the value of conservation.

While crowns are often recommended to protect and strengthen the tooth, their necessity is questioned by modern day adhesive dentistry.

Endodontic treatment is accepted to leave behind a weakend tooth structure that needs help of a restoration/prosthesis to restore form, function and aesthetics. Question arises, at what cost?

Should strengthening of the tooth come at the cost of first weakening it? Coz that is exactly what we do when preparing teeth for full coverage restorations... we strip the tooth off its protective enamel cover, leaving the burden of occlusion on the weakened dentin... Which we all appreciate is not designed for this abuse.

Now imagine a world where a partial glass ceramic or composite restoration can be bonded using minimally invasive protocols.
