Over 50 years of combined clinical, teaching, and research experience in endodontics. Inventor and developer of Mineral Trioxide Aggregate (MTA) in 1993 at Loma Linda University, revolutionizing endodontic treatment by creating a biocompatible material to replace mercury and lead-laden amalgam for root-end filling procedures. MTA has become the gold standard material for pulp capping, apexification, perforation repair, root resorption treatment, and surgical root-end filling, transforming endodontic practice worldwide. The Journal of Endodontics (2012) identified Dr. Torabinejad as the inventor of MTA and recognized his contribution as one of the most significant advances in endodontic materials in the past century.
