Навчання за спеціальністю зубний технік, Гамбург (1979–1983). Кваліфікація практичного інженера, Гамбург (1988 — також рік, коли він заснував свій навчальний інститут). Складання майстерського іспиту, Мюнстер, Північний Рейн-Вестфалія (22 квітня 1992 року). Працював у комерційних зуботехнічних лабораторіях у Білефельді (1985–1988) до заснування власної незалежної лабораторії.
